Why Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek?
Kanchenjunga Circuit is a trek to North and South Base Camp of Mount Kanchenjunga in Nepal. The Kanchenjunga trek is one of the finest in Nepal Himalaya. The trekking route follows Nepal's mountainous border with India and Tibet. Mount Kanchenjunga is the third highest mountain in the world at an altitude of 8,586m. Kanchenjunga’s dominating peak is so high that a trek to its base camp is itself a big-time adventure that keeps kicking the adrenaline rush. Trekking trail to Kanchenjunga Base Camp is quite different when we compare it with the other treks in the Indian Himalayan belt. Kanchenjunga massifs contour a big cross that spans the boundaries of three major countries- Nepal, Tibet and India (Sikkim). Till 1849, before the discovery of Everest and K2, Kangchenjunga was deemed as the highest mountain in India.

Day 01: Delhi - Bagdogra - Gangtok

Journey to Gangtok:

Fly from Delhi early morning to Bagdogra Airport. On arrival, our guide will receive you to take you to Gangtok. Enjoy a scenic drive through green lush and quaint villages to reach Gangtok. On reaching Gangtok, check into your hotel and rest and prepare yourself for fun. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel in Gangtok, sipping all the serenity that encompasses this beautiful hill station.

The trip will begin from Delhi and take you to the extremely pretty hill station of Gangtok, which incidentally happens to be the capital of Sikkim. Situated in the laps of the Himalayas, this small town is renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and rich cultural heritage.

Day 02: Gangtok - Yuksom (134 kms/5 hrs)

Drive to Yuksom:

Drive from breakfast to Yuksom. That is about 134 kms and takes more than five hours to reach there. We pass through absolutely breathtakingly beautiful mountain scenery as well as some stunning landscapes as we come into this beautiful little sleepy village, Yuksom. After getting checked in to an accommodation already booked for the night, enjoy your dinner and the peaceful evening in a quiet village. Tomorrow perhaps would bring in stores for you.

Today, you will be driving on an extremely picturesque route from Gangtok to the ancient village of Yuksom, which boasts a rich cultural heritage and is also the gateway to several trekking routes in Sikkim.

Day 03: Yuksam - Tsokha

Day 04: Tsokha - Dzongri

Day 05: Dzongri - Laxmi Pokhari

Day 06: Dzongri - Bikhbari

Day07: Bikhbari Chaurikhang and Rathong Glacier (Kanchenjunga Base Camp) - Bikhbari

Day 08: Rest

Day of Relaxation at Bikhbari:

Spend the day as you would like to and let your body regain its energy and spirit to soak up the beauty of Bikhbari. You could just watch beautiful sceneries, take in fresh mountain air, and take some time to reflect on your journey so far.

If you can, spend some time today exploring around. It is a traveling day of little journey, more so resting time in camp to recharge all that is still yet to happen. Have a cozy night in the tents in the beautiful nature around you at the end of the day.

After such an exciting but demanding trek to Kanchenjunga Base Camp, today is kept for rest and relaxation.

Day 09: Bikhbari - Bakkhim

Day 10: Bakkhim - Yuksom
