Why Khajuraho Dance Festival?
Khajuraho Dance Festival is one of those festivals of India that all dance lovers eagerly wait for. The 7-day Khajuraho Dance Festival, which is supposed to take place from 25th February to 2nd March every year. This festival sees performance by some of the best classical dancers in India every year and highlights the richness of the Indian classical dance.
The Khajuraho Dance Festival, organised by the Department of Culture of the government of Madhya Pradesh, takes place every year against the spectacular backdrop of these ancient temples. Dance has always been linked to the divine in Hindu mythology.
He added that the Khajuraho Dance Festival commenced in the year 1975 on the premises of the world-renowned temples, but after two-three years, the permission to hold the event on the premises was withdrawn. It was thus shifted to nearby open ground.

Day 01: Delhi
On arrival at Delhi International Airport receive a warm welcome from our representative who will help you with guided transfer to the hotel. Complete the check-in formalities and spend the rest of the day leisurely. (Standard check-in time is 2:00PM. Early check-in is subject to availability). Delhi: Delhi is an ancient city that has witnessed various ups and downs, politically and culturally. But every time, its culture, heritage, religion and the tradition regained itself for the generations to come. The culture of Delhi seems to be a blend of the modern lifestyles as well as the old traditions and values. On one hand you can see the Old Delhi still living with the old traditions and upholding the values of the past while on the other hand is New Delhi, influenced by the strong forces of modernization. Overnight at Delhi.
Day 02: Delhi - Khajuraho
After early breakfast transfer to Airport to connect flight for Khajuraho. On arrival at Khajuraho transfer to hotel. Khajuraho once the religious capital of Chandela dynasty, one of the powerful Rajput dynasties of Central India, Khajuraho is now famous for its enchanting temples and it’s legendary Khajuraho dance festival. The week- long festival of classical dances is held every year in February/March against the spectacular backdrop of the magnificently lit temples. Day is free for your own activities.
Day 03: Khajuraho

Morning visits the famous erotic temples of Khajuraho built between AD 950 and 1050 by the kings of the Chandela, the site originally possessed 85 temples, of which 20 are still reasonably preserved. The temples are best known for the erotic friezes on their walls. Later join the cultural festival highlighted the richness of the various Indian classical dance styles such as Kathak, Bharathanatyam, Odissi, Kuchipudi, Manipuri and Kathakali with were performed in an open-air auditorium, usually in front of the Chitragupta Temple dedicated to Surya (the Sun God) and the Vishwanatha Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, belonging to the western group. Along with the renowned performers, a number of craftsmen displayed their crafts to the visitors. There was an open market where local articles were put up for sale. Overnight at hotel.
Day 04: Khajuraho - Jhansi - Agra

After breakfast drive to Jhansi (approx 172 Kms. 3 ½ hrs. drive) to connect train to Agra. En-route visit Orcha Temples, the 16th Century temples well known for its art works. On arrival at Jhansi transfer to Railway station to connect train to Agra. On arrival at Agra transfer to hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 05: Agra- Delhi

After breakfast visit Taj Mahal, one of the 7 wonders of world, the monument of love immortalized in marble. It was built by Emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his Queen Mumtaj, Agra Fort dominated by red sandstone construction & houses the beautiful Pearl Mosque and other noteworthy structures. Later drive to Delhi (approx 204 Kms. 4 hrs. drive). En-route visit to Sikandra: The worthy monument here is the tomb of Akbar which shows an interesting fusion of Hindu & Muslim art and architecture reflecting the spirit of the emperor himself. On arrival transfer international Airport to connect flight for onward Destination. (Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays)
Day 06: Delhi - Onward Destination

After breakfast sight-seeing tour to Delhi, which includes Jama Masjid - the largest mosque of Emperor Shahjahan, Red Fort, Raj Ghat- cremation site of Mahatma Gandhi, to India Gate - a 42-meter stone arch built in the memory of the Indian Soldiers who died in World War II, Drive past the President's House & Parliament House, Humayun's Tomb, the Qutab Minar & Lotus Temple. Evening transfer to International Airport to connect flight for Onward Destination
Day 07: Gorkhey to Sepi

Start early from Gorkhey. Walking through Sammanden and Rammam villages, we will reach Sepi around 2 PM. The trek ends here.
